Procedure to File a Complaint in Oklahoma Police Station

Locate the police station: Find the police station that has jurisdiction over the area where the incident occurred or where the officer involved is stationed.
Visit the police station: Go to the police station in person during their operating hours. If you’re unsure about the station’s location, you can search online or contact the non-emergency number for assistance.
Request to speak with a supervisor: Inform the front desk officer or receptionist that you would like to file a complaint. They will likely direct you to a supervisor or a designated officer responsible for handling complaints.
Provide relevant information: When speaking with the supervisor or officer, provide them with detailed information about the incident or misconduct you wish to report. Be clear and concise, including dates, times, locations, and any other relevant details.
Complete a complaint form: The police station may require you to fill out a formal complaint form. Provide all the requested information accurately and truthfully. If you need assistance in filling out the form, ask for guidance from the officer in charge.
Provide supporting evidence: If you have any evidence, such as photographs, videos, or witness statements, that supports your complaint, provide copies to the officer. Make sure to retain the originals for your records.
Obtain a copy of the complaint: After filing the complaint, request a copy of the complaint form or any documentation confirming that your complaint has been received. This can serve as a reference for future correspondence or inquiries.
Follow up: Inquire about the next steps in the process and ask for an estimated timeline for the investigation. Ensure you have contact information for the officer in charge or a designated point of contact, so you can follow up on your complaint if necessary.
