Procedure to get Police Clearance Certificate in Turkey

There are two ways of obtaining a police Clearance.

  1. Apply in person to the Public Prosecutor’s Office in your city of residence.
  2. Apply Online
  • Visit the website.
  • This mechanism can only be used by Turkish citizens to get a penal certificate. Turkish individuals must apply to PTT Centers with their Turkish identity card in order to receive an e-Government Password, which is required to access the system, in order to obtain a Penal Certificate through the e-Government Gateway.
  • If there are no criminal records detected, the application is processed by Turkey’s Department of Judicial Records and Statistics in 2 to 3 weeks.
  • The certificate will be delivered by postal mail to the forwarding address that applicants specified in their application.

Documents Required

  • a letter outlining the justification for needing the police clearance certificate
  • Completed application form
  • a legal record demonstrating your work permit or dependent pass for the application
  • Copy of Turkish Identification Card
  • a photocopy of your identification document, such as your passport or driver’s license
  • a set of fingerprint impressions from the applicant
  • a thorough cover letter outlining the length of stay in Turkey and the requirement for the aforementioned certificate
  • Copy of all passport pages (both old and new), including copies of the first three data pages and the pages with the visas, entry, and exit stamps for Turkey.
